A few days ago I was sitting and thinking about my habits and routines, and while it may just be the slump of winter coming out in me, I feel like I need a bit of a change to get me motivated again. So today I am going to share with you all a few things I want to do this month! I always go back and forth on goal setting. Obviously it works, but is constantly striving to clime another mountain (or in my case for my size of goals a tiny ant hill…lol) the best way to live our lives? I don’t know, but this gloom of February has me all kinds of blah, and I need to snap out of it!
1. READ WHEN I AM IN THE CAR
Ok, so not while I am driving. Here’s the thing….. I spend A LOT of time in my car waiting to drop off or pick up kids. Almost always during that time, I grab my phone and get lost in the world of Instagram or Twitter. This month, I want to put the phone down and ACTUALLY read a book. A few weeks ago I shared my want to read list, and being blunt…. it’s NEVER going to happen if I don’t find a dedicated time to pick up a book. So… I am stuck in the car anyway, why make that my time to read.

2. IG DAILY
This one, to me, is A LOT more fun than the reading one. Not that reading isn’t great, I just love IG a bit more. Here’s the deal. I have ALWAYS strived hard to grow my following on my social channels organically. No gimmicks. No giveaways claiming I love my followers so much I want to make everyone follow 7 people to have 1 shot at winning some cash (insert biggest eye roll ever). No sub for sub… if that’s even still a thing. I want to just naturally be me, share what I share, and if people follow along that’s awesome!
So I often look at why I like following a certain account, and see if it’s something I can incorporate into my content as well. One thing I LOVE about my favorites that I follow is each day they take the time to just say hi, and post a short segment of stories about their day or events happening around them.
So for the month of February I want to give it a shot. A real attempt at doing this daily. The ultimate goal out of this would be to make it a routine and habit that I stick with.

3. WORK ON MY AFTER WORK ROUTINE
I asked on IG and a lot of us have this same issue. We get home from work or picking up the kids from school and are just burnt out. Whether you work outside the home, in your home, are a SAHM, it’s the same for all of us. I don’t have the answers on the perfect routine, or the 7 things you should do in this time block of your day…. but it’s something I do want to work on. Below is what I am going to try to do to improve on this time of day. I’ll check back later in the month with how it’s going!

4. BETTER UTILIZE MY PLANNING SYSTEM
I have a planner… ok, I have like 100 planners. But I use a planner that I love. I just need to use it better. I need to not worry about messing it up. I need to put in more than just our appointments. I need to use it to help hold me accountable for the tasks that need completed…. all that seems simple enough right….lol.

5. CONTINUE ENJOYING THE WEEKEND DOWNTIME
The one awesome and great thing about the months of January and February is that our weekends tend to be pretty open. Not much travel, no weekend baseball tournaments, no shuttling from one activity to another. We just hang out. Watch Netflix. Catch up on sleep. And it’s pretty great. I know that come March, each weekend will be filled to the brim… which I do love that as well. So I just want to continue to enjoy the quiet. Not feel guilty for taking a Sunday afternoon nap. Binge all the tv now since I don’t watch much the rest of the year.

Here are a few of my current favorite cozy items.
