2019 was a pretty fantastic year. I feel settled in my life currently. My kids are becoming more and more independent by the day, my work life is going really well, and there is just a lot of good.
As far as the new year goes, I’m not doing some big resolution list, word of the year, so master plan. My hope is to actually chill out a bit this year. Not make everything so stressful (usually on my own doing). Adding a word to live by, or a set list of things I want to accomplish might not be the best way to accomplish those things.
One thing I do love to think about this time of year is organizing. Our life is pretty calm Jan-March, so it’s a great time to sort, declutter and organize to prepare for when we don’t have a lot of extra time. This break we completely cleaned out our garage, added some shelving to our furnace room, and I continue to march on in my life long war in my storage room to keep it organized.
Each year I try to find better solutions for organizing in our storage room. Last year we added the shelving which made a HUGE difference. You can have all the labeled bins in the world, but shelving is such a space saver. If you want to see the video organizing the space WATCH HERE. I’ll tell you what, it did feel great today to wake up and start undecorating. I got a lot of it down today, with just a few more trees and strands of garland to go. Now that we worked the day away we are going to relax a bit, eat the traditional pork and sauerkraut for dinner.
