I hope everyone had a very special holiday filled with time with the ones they love. I thought I would share a little recap of our Christmas 2019. I don’t have any Youtube videos filmed or planned for the next few days (except maybe a 2020 planner preview)… or maybe possibly into the New Year, so the blog or on Instagram (@happilyahousewife) will be where to find me until 2020!
First and foremost…. the cookies were a hit! I feel like I shared a lot more of my Christmas cookie process with you all this year, and you loved it! I still have some left, but not many. I have a few notes on what to make more/less of next year.

The Holiday for us really started on Saturday the 21st. My parents, siblings, and kids all came for the weekend! It was incredible. We exchanged gifts, soaked up every second of the baby (my nephew) toddling around, ate a ton of food, and even went into town to see a train display, shop and have lunch. We even pulled out Mexican Train and throughout the evenings made it through all 13 rounds.

Once my siblings left, we did a bit of a regroup and got ready for Christmas Eve. My mom, Lilly and I did our annual shopping trip. I picked up a few sweaters and an extremely comfortable sherpa zip up. Lilly has recently grown, so we picked up a few cute items for her as well. I’ll share those next week!
Christmas Eve is such a fun but rushed day for us. My mom took the kids bowling, the guys head out for the the day, and I had the house to myself to prep for the Christmas Eve gathering at our home in the evening. Our family then heads to Mass. We open our home to friends on Christmas Eve and every year it is so fun.

My favorite view each year, Christmas Eve night once everyone is asleep.
Christmas Day was quiet and relaxing. We opened gifts, ate any leftover I could find, and just hung out.

Every year I get asked what I got for Christmas and this year I thought I would share some of my gifts. For the most part I love any practical gift. I also love adding to my Lenox collection. Last year I started making an Amazon wish list as a guide for my husband, and it’s worked so well. I just add things throughout the year, and then during the holidays I am not scrambling trying to think up things. Anyway, there were also some adorable homemade items made by my kids, which I LOVE!

And now here we are. The day after Christmas. My family has all returned home, and I am working to not only clean up the house, but also get organized and ready for the new year to come.
What is something you got for Christmas that you love?
