Having a ring binder option has been a long awaited want in the Erin Condren Planner Community. The Life Planner literally changed our planning ways, and now for almost 10 years I have loved sharing how the Life Planner makes my life run a bit more smoothly. This new product has so much potential, and today I am sharing what I am loving on first impression and also the negatives to this product.

The Binder

Based off of first impressions, the binder seems to be great quality. I love the texture of the Kaleidoscope Covers is amazing. I love how smooth it is. I do wish the corners had a protector to ensure that throughout the year of use, it doesn’t get damaged. The rings seem durable and mine were in great condition upon arrival. I know the placing of the rings is a hot topic, and I am still undecided on how I feel. If it works out how it has been explained that accessories will be interchangeable between the covers, I am all in, and with hopes that the launch goes well, adding more to the product line is a huge draw. At the same time, it is frustrating that there is still not great option for those that want to use Erin Condren pages in a Kikki-K, Filofax, or Foxy Fix ring binder.
The Inserts

The inserts come in 2 different color options, the neutral or colorful. For my main planner I went for a neutral, which this year I LOVE. For the binder I wanted to go with the traditional colorful vertical, which was the first color option and layout available. It is signature Erin Condren. The most notable changes to the “extra” pages is the addition of a monthly highlight page. A place to put Birthdays, Goals, and then open space for note taking as well.
Weekly Layouts

I get asked pretty often which weekly layout works best or that I would recommend. One thing to know about me, I LOVE LINES. I want lines on any/every sheet possible. So although I don’t necessarily need the “hourly” part of the hourly layout…. I go with the hourly because…. you guessed it, lines. But if I were to recommend to a new paper planner user, I would say to start with the vertical. It is so open ended, that you can truly make it your own. And out of EVERY planner I have ever used, the Erin Condren Planners have THE BEST monthly spreads.
The Extras

The planner does come with the sticker sheets in the back, as well as the pocket folder. It is a bit odd that they have the coil punch in place of the ring punch, it looks like an afterthought. It isn’t a huge deal to me, especially for the sticker sheets, but it would be nice if the folder were punched properly. The book also comes with a snap in bookmark, that I LOVE!
