Thank you to Great Wolf Lodge for Inviting us and hosting our family for a weekend preview of the Summer Camp-In experience.
Celebrating Summer on a family vacation is a tradition that kids will remember forever. Great Wolf Lodge has a very exciting new experience your family can enjoy during the summer season: The Summer Camp-In. The attention to detail in the launch of this brand new, fun filled theme at the Lodge did not go unnoticed and today I am going to share 5 reasons to spend part of your summer at this perfect family vacation spot.

The Perfect Indoor/Outdoor Experience
When going to Great Wolf Lodge over the winter it seemed right, the weather was nasty and cold and gray, so an indoor waterpark was the perfect escape and hideaway from the weather. Our trip to preview the Summer Camp-In was in May. But I think families will love that most locations feature water elements indoors and outdoors weather permitting. The outdoor pools in Williamsburg are set to open prior to the Memorial Day Holiday and the flexibility of having both the indoor attractions and outdoor pools is amazing. No one wants to sit out in the hot sun on a pool deck ALL day EVERY day of their vacation. Variety is key with kids, and being able to escape the hot sun or stormy weather and head back into the lazy river or wave pool is the perfect balance. Also the ropes course and mini golf add additional fun outdoor activities during the warmer months.

Extra Included Activities
I love that when you book a stay at Great Wolf you know that there are enough included activities that you won’t feel like you are shelling out 20s every turn you make. From morning yoga, kids crafts throughout the day, to songs, stories and dance parties, there is plenty to keep the family occupied in the mornings and evenings without having to include any add ons. I also love at least at our location in Williamsburg, that a lot of those add on attractions are not shoved in the kids faces, or even in the common or main areas. So they honestly may never even know if you decide not to do the kid bowling or creation station.
Some of the fun Summer Camp-In exclusive activities include, a s’mores bar, the trailblazer challenge, summer camp themed crafts and songs, daily dance parties, and our favorite the Ducky 500, a rubber duck race in the lazy river!

Add On Features Your Family Will Love
These rooms are limited but for our family the themed rooms would be a special touch to add to that summer Camp-In theme. Other extras that I would recommend is Magiquest and a fun evening at the arcade! My kids didn’t really ask for or need much more than that, well except for a stop by the candy store of course!

Seasonal Food and Beverage
I was wowed over the winter with the food selections and the tiny details that go into the meals at Great Wolf lodge, but they outdid themselves with the summer selections! From the Shrimp Boil dinner, to the Worms and Dirt Desert Cups and the other fun themed additions, there really is no reason to leave the lodge at all. Grab a sit down breakfast at the Loose Moose Bar and Grill or some Dunkin Donuts to get your day started, a quick pizza to eat poolside during the day and then a family meal back at the Loose Moose to end out your evening. They also have an AMAZING food allergy procedure and the entire lodge is peanut free! “Great Wolf Lodge dining facilities do not serve peanut or tree nut products, but some of our products may be manufactured in facilities that also process nuts.”

Something For Everyone!
There really is something for everyone to enjoy. I have 3 kids with age gaps between them and never once do I hear I’m bored while at Great Wolf Lodge. Another incredible thing is that technology is out of sight, out of mind. The kids didn’t ask for devices once, and I even found myself forgetting to check my phone throughout the day.
