LETS TALK JEWELRY

To me accessorizing using jewelry can be so tough. for a few reasons…. the first being how constricting, heavy or chunky jewelry is really hard for me to wear. It can put me into a panic attack… no joke a concert bracelet did this to me one time. Also I just really like simple, almost underwhelming pieces. Nothing too colorful, flashy, or fancy. I do understand though that jewelry can up an outfit to another level. So today I am breaking it all down and sharing jewelry and also storage solutions as well.

First let’s talk quality. I am a firm believer in balance in pretty much anything. So I feel like really great quality or a higher price point for classic pieces you will wear FOREVER is the way to go. For everything else, most of all things that are on a trend, go cheap!

As far as metals goes… I used to be all in on just silver no gold…. since that is what my wedding rings are. Now I mix and match with no issue. I tend to gravitate toward gold for necklaces a lot.

Similar to clothing, I don’t really shop around, I have my favorites and stick to it. I find it very easy to shop at Loft for accessories since I shop there a lot for clothing. I also love the variety of pieces that Nordstrom has, and you can obviously never go wrong on Amazon.

LOFT

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Here are my current Loft Favorites. Loft does change out their inventory quite a bit, so most things are seasonal. The earrings are weightless and so easy to wear. It gives the appearance of a hoop without the bulk or heaviness.

NORDSTROM

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

What I love about Nordstrom is there is a piece of jewelry for any price point, season, or occasion. The Tory Burch Earrings are one of my top 10 all time products. I don’t wear a ton of rings, heck most of the time I don’t wear a wedding band, but I love the bang for the buck you get when you purchase a stackable set.

AMAZON

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

Amazon can be tricky. I say, make sure you read reviews before purchase of jewelry. Also stick to lower price points if it isn’t a name brand. I love the wrap bracelet trend right now, and since it is a trend that will be here today, probably gone tomorrow, I prefer not to invest a ton in those pieces.

ORGANIZING

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6

So one of my personal biggest problems with jewelry is that I am terrible at keeping track of it. I lose so many pieces, because I just don’t take the time to put it away. I have the jewelry case mirror and LOVE it. I also have a few travel cases for on the go. It’s important to have a system for organizing jewelry.

I hope this helps those of you who, like me, just don’t even know where to start with jewelry. I would say if you don’t have a collection of pieces but want to start one, try this…. start with basics. A few pieces that could and will go with everything and then build from there. When you purchase a new top, think about a piece of jewelry that would go well with it. Then as you acquire pieces you will find that you can mix and match.
